Defeating Disappointment

Have you ever had one of those days that just produces an excitement in your heart? I think today is one of those days. I just finished listening to a Sunday School lesson from a deacon of our church that talks about disappointments in life. He used the story of Lazarus’ resurrection for the text.

Here’s my thought: wouldn’t it just rock your world to be upset and disappointed in Jesus because He didn’t show up to heal your family member, thus allowing them to die. When He does show up it’s days later and your family member has already been buried. Then when He visits the grave He orders the grave to be opened. Dude, Lazarus stinks! But, Jesus hollers into the grave and guess what! Lazarus came jumping out of the grave. He stinks and has to jump because grave clothes bind his legs.

Would you go hug a bouncing, stinking mummy? I bet his family did!

PERSONAL:
The last two weeks have been crazy at our house. We decided to paint four rooms and a hall. A friend of ours suggested that she and my wife make custom drapes for the rooms. So, every spare moment has been used for that. Last weekend, my family converged on our home and painted EVERYTHING in 12 hours. What a relief that was. It would have taken my wife and I WEEKS to do all that work.

It’s finally starting to come together. We hung the last set of drapes for the living room. They should have the kitchen drapes done tonight so that we can hang those. We are going to move some furniture in and some furniture out tomorrow afternoon. All in all, we should be set for a church meeting at the house tomorrow at 6:30.

By the way, 1 person got saved at the youth rally and 2 people rededicated their lives. I just downloaded a wonderful video that I hope to use on Easter morning. Let’s get people to church!
